for everyone
Some stuff from waaaay back that are still in my possession.

According to my bankbook, I had P1,400+ in my name in Dec. 1980. Does anyone remember who sang the Sanrio theme ("wont you come my way, lalalalala...")? Or better yet, have a copy? Anyone, anyone??

The cassette player I kept in my bathroom and like rubber duckie, truly made bathtime lots of fun. The radio still works (I was obviously an RT listener as a child), but the player has gone to rest after so many years.

I'm proud to say the betamax is in good working condition which can still play my Depeche Mode, Alice in Chains, MTV and 21 Jumpstreet beta tapes.

And finally, the cellphone! It's not exactly vintage, but with the new models that are being churned out every quarter, this baby that first allowed us to send and receive SMS messages definitely deserves a special mention ;-)

Happy Savers Club

love it! You still have Betamax! (With 21 Jumpstreet pa) woohooo.
I think we all listened to RT way back when.

sayang your tape deck doesn't work either...there are cassettes that we'd all love to listen to again.

How cool! Is it the one where the tape holder pops up and comes with a cabled remote control??

Did it? I don't remember, all I found was the passbook and the slipcase :(

Anne, I bet you were a member too?? For some reason, it made me look forward to going to the bank though I didn't really care much why.

Would you believe I even transfered those Jumpstreet tapes to VHS myself, only to discover a few months later that it was going to be released on DVD?

Thank God for NU, I was able to resurrect some Dredd cassette recordings.

I had that exact same model of cassette recorder! I no longer have it but...I still have my casettes! Not all of them but after reading this blog I don't know if I should toss them out or hang on :-) ... I recently got a blank stare when I mentioned Shaun Cassidy ... ha ha ha ha!

Well, I never intended to keep them, they just happen to find them lying around! Although it was hard parting with a betamax player that still works, especially with all the tapes that I accumulated throughout my childhood ;-)

The cassette recorder was pretty common model, I know a lot of people back then who had the same one, and a lot were also kept in their bathrooms!

Shaun Cassidy??? Hahaha, did I ever tell you he was my first crush?? I was three then, and I refused to let my yaya change my clothes in front of my cousin's Hardy Boys posters in their room, for fear of him seeing me naked. CHOS!!! But speaking of Shaun, I still have his albums sleeves (unfortunately it's somewhere in my tita's house for storage) but the record is long gone. A doo ron ron ron a doo ron ron.....

Notice how My Melody isn't there though. I don't think she was around at that time yet hehehe.

Reminds me of the portraits in the horror movies with the eyeballs moving...wooooo.

Hardy Boys, they should replay that you know. I watched that too! On Friday nights! Something to look forward to.

I mean if they replay Voltes V, they should replay THAT! Cult favorite! He he.

Hey i just realized you had a substantial amount of money in your happy savers club account - P 1,400? Wow! I think i only had P 300 all through out its existence! That's why you looked forward to going to the bank! =)
isabetlog wrote on Oct 11, '07

Hahaha...and remember it didn't even have caller-ID at first? You had to scroll down each and every message to get to the first one?
